Meet the Author

Jack Sorenson, who has been called "the Western Rockwell," grew up on his father's dude ranch and dreamed of becoming an artist. He blends his love of the West with his talent to create paintings that have garnered countless collectors, magazine covers, and licensed products, including greeting cards, prints, throws, and more. Although he is one of the most successful licensed Western artists in the country, Jack considers faith and family the most important aspects of his life.

    Beautiful...

    Jack Sorenson
Harvest House Publishers, 2008
ISBN: 9780736922289
Reviewed by Debra Gaynor for ReviewYourBook.com, 10/08
5 stars
Jack Sorenson has a God given talent. Growing Up Cowboy is beautifully illustrated. The depth of the illustrations is amazing. The colors are vivid. In most books, the illustrations are the backdrop for the text, not so in Growing Up Cowboy. Hope Lyda supplied the text. Each essay is beautifully written with much wisdom. She includes quotes from well-known people. My favorite illustration has a boy riding a horse carrying his fishing pole. Walking along beside him is his faithful canine companion. The accompanying essay is entitled Joyful. ¿Turn any moment¿a trial or celebration¿into a lesson about resting in and shaping a life with joy.¿ Growing Up Cowboy will make a cherished gift for someone you love.
