In Growth into Manhood the reader is given the chance to learn what Medinger knows about the qualities of character that define a mature man, about the practical steps a man can take to grow into his fullest potential, and about the paradoxical truth that, in the end, real manhood is ‘something we give away.’” — Joseph Nicolosi, Ph.D., National Association for Research and Therapy of Homosexuality

“A terrific book loaded with fresh insights and practical encouragement for the man struggling to move into the fullness of his manhood.” — Bob Davies, Executive Director, Exodus International-North America

~This is Not Only for Homosexuals Either~

This book, of course, is for people who want help in changing from their homosexuality. And on that part, the information was very practical and applicable. But the last three reviews can tell you all about that. I'm here to tell you about how this book can also help NON-HOMOSEXUALS as well. As someone who never got into rough play with my school friends, got into playing sports, or even hung out with a lot of male peers, I grew up very out of place in my manhood and masculinity. I never did the things men did and I just became a lazy fat couch-potatoe completely insecure about talking with girls and hanging out with men, with a low self-esteem, and a fear of embarresment in being outgoing and assertive in all situations. This book has helped me to understand the male character, exactly what defines manhood and masculinity, how exactly men think and function, how men are different from women and the things that make them different from each other. This book has helped me to understand what I can do to finally claim my God-given manhood and how to develop my masculinity into a healthy maturity. Its shown me how a geeky nerd who could never fit in with the jocks and become secure enough on the inside to be one of the jocks without changing the core of who I am.

Growth into Manhood: Resuming the Journey

Non-Christians and even atheist minded people can use the knowledge in this book. At first I thought that the type of thinking in this book would be non-applicable and unrealistic. But the author uses very practical thinking that in today's society has been removed by anti-chauvinism. Don't get me wrong! This book doesn't promote chauvinism in any way but it does promote values and ideas that men today are told to throw out do window to combat the development of chauvinism. The knowledge in this book, which the author himself put into practice to grow and mature out of his homosexuality, are perfect methods and techniques for one to grow out of homosexuality. This book is written for men but women struggling with lesbianism can also use some of this knowledge. The knowledge offered gives the struggling homosexual methods and techniques of becoming secure in their gender identity. As you become more secure in your gender identity by doing the things that gender typical behavior defines, your homosexuality will loose its hold more and more. So basically, Alan Medinger's technique says that the more your grow and mature in your masculinity and self awareness as a man, the less of a hold homosexuality will have over you. I recommend to anyone whose considering buying this book, to get, read it, apply it, and use it to speak to others about homosexuality and how people are not born this way.

Growth into Manhood: Resuming the Journey

This book fights the homosexual condition through sound explanation, logical judgement, and practical treatment. 'Growth Into Manhood: Resuming the Journey' is an encouraging book written from personal experience, easy to understand yet profound study, and genuine leveling on the part of the author--Alan Medinger. Expressing absolute sympathy and humble correction for those struggling with homosexuality and those wanting to educate themselves on it; Medinger's presents a strategy for treating homosexuality by a man becoming totally familar, whole, and active in his masculinity. Its by understanding your gender identity and apply/living the ways of masculinity to your life that will bring you into maturity. When you come into maturity as a man, the conditioning of homosexuality will dissipate and the once homosexual man can blossom into complete manhood and full heterosexuality!!! He himself has helped a great many men grow out of homosexuality and he offers his invaluable experience and knowledge in this must needed book that stands out from all the others that claim to help people raise out from homosexuality. This book is like gold for those who know the truth about the homosexual condition and seek to rise out of it. Well look no further. Your seeking has paid off!

    A Wonderous Book Of Insight!!!

This book stands out from all the other books that deal with maturing and growing out of homosexuality. Why? Because most of those books center and focus the healing process on forming emotional relationships with same-sex friends without indulging in the sexual cravings. Its through meeting the emotional needs and starving the sexual needs in these relationships that will cause the homosexual to heal and grow out of their homosexuality. Alan Medinger does not puddle that 'theory' in this marvelous and revolutionary book. With common sense, basic psychology, Biblical scripture, and an easy to understand writing style, Alan Medinger presents the healing process not by forming healthy emotional relationships with other same-sex persons, but by knowing, understanding, becoming firm, and deeply rooted in one's gender identity. By taking the steps we failed to take in childhood and adolesence to mature mentality and emotionally in our gender identity, we will reap the benefits of complete, total, and perminant healing from our homosexuality. This is a wonderful book of personal testimony and extrodinary insight. This book is VERY MUCH WORTH READING for the struggling homosexual and Christian minister alike. This book will educate you on how to effectively minister the Gospel of Christ to homosexuals. And at the very least, will educate others on how to relate, understand, and deal with their friends and family members who find themselves struggling with homosexuality. It will also help homosexual men fully understand the nature of their homosexuality and the steps it takes to completely overcome it and come into the full security, maturity, and wholeness of your manhood and masculinity!!! This book is for homosexual strugglers of all ages and although its written for men, women can also read this book and utilize its information to combat their lesbianism. I highly recommend this outstanding book to ANYONE wanting to know THE TRUTH about homosexuality and how to overcome it!!!!
