Overview

Jasmine Tekla might be just a geek at heart, but she would do anything for her family--even turn into a kick-ass heroine and go up against the Navy SEAL tasked with bringing in her AWOL brother.

Her brother is NOT a rogue soldier and a murderer! If only Jasmin could convince the stubborn SEAL to believe her. Except, she's melted from the smoldering heat in his eyes, distracted by his sexy voice and rock hard body, and undermined by the crush she's had on him for the past ten years.

Gabe Cannon--a man on a mission and the type of guy who gets the job done--is determined not to fall for Jasmine's dubious story. Or the blazing attraction that crackles between them and makes it difficult to remember just why he shouldn't trust her. But with every secret he discovers, a darker truth is revealed. And soon they're fighting for their lives together.

Meet the Author

Dana Marton writes fast-paced action-adventure romances that take her readers all over the globe. She is a Rita Award finalist and the winner of the Daphne du Maurier Award of Excellence. She loves writing stories of intrigue, filled with dangerous plots that try her tough-as-nails heroes and the special women they fall in love with. Her books have been published in seven languages in eleven countries around the world.

She would love to hear from her readers.

Okay, the above version is the glamour version for press releases. The truth is that my path to publication was nothing but unglamorous. I wrote for 13 years and completed 4 books (as well as having others in various stages of completion) before I finally received a call from a Harlequin editor. I was beginning to wonder if I was being tenacious or just too dense to know when to quit. But it all worked out at the end! J I love, love, love writing and would spend all day in front of the computer if I could just break my family of the habit of wanting to eat and wear clean clothes. What’s up with that? But I must get up from the desk now and then, if only because my Internet connection goes down or my ancient PC overheats. Then I do enjoy cooking, knitting, hunting for treasures at the flea market, our Beagle, Peanut the Destroyer, and gardening.

I’d love it if you picked up one of my books and emailed me to tell me what you thought of it. I’ve been known to name characters after readers. Just ask Princess Judi.

In Guardian Angel, Jasmine is on the run with her little sister Mandy and their big brother Jake, an AWOL Special Ops soldier who has been framed for murder. Jake's former Army buddy Gabe is on the contract mercenary team assigned to find him. But Gabe is getting suspicious of his team leader's motives, and when Jasmine finds Gabe and asks for his help, his instinctive response is to help her. He remembers her as a teenager, but she has grown into a beautiful and brave woman desperate to save her siblings. Gabe's protective instincts and attraction to Jasmine kick into overdrive, at the same time the secret plot is unraveling. In just 60 short pages I knew about Gabe's and Jasmine's families, their backgrounds, and had a real sense of their personalities. I've read full-length novels with less character development. The action is nonstop, the pace relentless, and I could not put this down.

I just finished reading this story. It has good action scenes not that it would ever happen to me. I liked the characters. They were believable, I've known some people who would act like this. The story was believable and that was scary. If I say more that would spoil the story. Now that I have your attention, you will just have to buy this book and read it. Beware, the ending will have you wanting more. Please try this book.

Guardian Agent by Dana Marton hooked me from the first page. Gabe, Jasmine and Jake were well developed characters that I really liked. I rooted for them to make it out of Italy alive. Fast paced with plenty of action and a touch of attraction between Gabe and Jasmine. This is a stand alone book complete within itself; but the overall story line does continue into another book which, if you are like me, you have to find out how it all plays out. This novella is now included in a newly expanded boxed set titled AGENTS UNDER FIRE which has the complete story line. Three hot ex-military men, three women who are strong and independent, and a covert operation to bring down a corrupt politican.

This is my first book by Dana Marton and you can be sure it won't be my last. I was caught in the fast moving story of this novella. Gabe, who is ex Military and ex FBI, is now working for a private securities firm and they are on a mission in Venice to capture a soldier who went AWOL. Coincidentally, the rogue soldier Jake, happened to be an old Army friend. On one of their stakeouts, Gabe thought they were closing in on Jake only to realize the person was his sister, Jasmine. But before he could get his questions answered, Jasmine escaped. Gabe and Jasmine go way back to 10 years ago when Jasmine was just a teenager and she had a huge crush on Gabe. With Mandy being very sick and Jake badly injured, Jasmine had no choice but to trust her instincts and turn to Gabe for help. With the little info given by Jasmine, Gabe did some digging and became suspicious of the entire operation. The plot was well written and I didn't feel that Dana was rushing to end the story. That being said, of course I would have been happier if it had more details and development and for the story to be full-length instead. Nevertheless, the plot and plenty of fast paced actions will keep you enthralled. I can't wait to get started on the next book, Avenging Agent. I was gifted a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Strong characters, and an excellent start to a series. I hope there are full-length novels to come in this series.

Loved Gabe and Jasmines story but sure could have used a few more chapters just about their budding relationship. Full of suspense and memories of an old crush.
