The story begins with Sasha being mugged near her office. This scene initially does a good job of grabbing the reader’s attention however there were numerous secondary characters introduced that made it difficult to follow. I was a bit confused at first. Was Pete the love interest or David? Also, some of the sex scenes were a bit silly and I found myself rolling my eyes. In fact, many of the scenes throughout the entire story were either choppy or seemed like someone had flipped the fast forward switch which caused a disruption in the entire flow of the story.

I also didn’t feel any sort of connection with Sasha or David. David seemed too preoccupied with being the opposite of his father. The one character that I did enjoy reading about and found myself rooting for was Jamal. He seemed like a great kid that unfortunately got mixed up with the wrong crowd. Review by Sarah L.
