After yet another run-in with the law, Celeste Bronston is given one last chance to avoid incarceration. Her godfather, Jace Jordon, has offered to take her under his roof and serve as her legal guardian, despite the fact that she will be eighteen before she even moves into his home. With no other choice if she wants to stay out of jail, Celeste accepts the judge's offer, even though it means that until the age of twenty-one she will be under the authority of a man she has never even met.
Expecting her godfather to be a stuffy old man, Celeste is pleasantly surprised to find that he is barely over thirty, and moreover, he is quite well-to-do. The strict rules she is expected to obey come as a much less pleasant surprise, however. When she discovers how Jace deals with disobedient young ladies, she is truly shocked. Eighteen or not, she soon learns that bad behavior will earn her a long, hard, bare bottom spanking.
As time passes, though, Celeste begins to see Jace as much more than just a strict guardian. Although he initially resists his feelings, Jace too begins to see Celeste in a different light. When he begins to reveal his interest in dominance and submission to the feisty young woman who shares his home, their relationship begins to grow dramatically, but where will things lead?

I became enthralled with this story right from the beginning. It was very easy to get caught up in Jace and Celeste's story. We have a young girl who has never truly been wanted by people who were supposed to take care of her, so she has learned to make do by her wits. She has never been able to put down roots. And she is given one last chance to do so as Jace's ward. Jace is much older than Celeste which is a good thing. He is very much the Dom and delivers. But he is also caring and fair when it calls for it. Like Celeste though because of his lifestyle and background he has built walls up around his own heart. His comfort zone gets shaken up when he realizes he's fallen in love with Celeste. But Jace isn't the only Dom we're introduced to, there is Mark. His best friend, childhood bud who helps him out with teaching Celeste the errors of her way. She gains a friend in Mark's sub Gayle who is perfect to help show and lend Celeste an ear in the ways of this lifestyle. Celeste isn't the only one who gets in trouble in this tale. This book became one of my all time favorites simply because this wasn't a hurry up and get to it. The story unfolded and showed not only the pleasurable side of the lifestyle but took and gave us the emotional and mental connection between the couples that is needed to make this lifestyle a success. If you are new to being a spanko, or D&S then I would highly recommend you read this book. Celeste, Jace, Mark and Gayle all grow through this story of complex relationships. This story has romance, fun, laughter, sass, D & S, spankings that will leave you wanting more and seeking out your own mate for a bit of fun behind closed doors. I was sorry to see it end but loved the happily ever after ending. You won't be disappointed.
I havent found a book this good in a while!!
Celeste is really at the end of the road and this is her very last chance to save herself. Jace is not the guardian she was expected but he is certainly what she needs. The slow development of the relationship even though you can see where it's headed is nice. It was just as important that Celeste grow to love and trust not just the people in her life but herself as well. PS I think Ben needs to find his own HEA with a girl he can bring into this wonderful circle of "family".
Kind of boring.
