I was not expecting to love this book as much as I did. I could get SO mad at Amaena, yet I did sympathized with her on occasion. We find out about her Core, that is, how she died, and learn things about her that make her more relatable. Still, the truth is that I wanted to slap her silly for most of the story. I thought she was being a selfish little wench, keeping Marcus and Emmy apart. Does she realize that a person who does something to cause someone else pain because it gives them pleasure is the definition of “sadist”? Then there was the whole BS about her spending six days in a motel room making out with the leader of the demons she was supposed to be fighting whilst mentally criticizing Marcus for not putting the mission first. Hello? Is the term “hypocrite” in your vocabulary? I must admit, I wanted Amaena to die. It’s mean, I know, I just had a hard time feeling sorry for her when she was being so vicious. Even when Emmy was < SPOILER > dying, Amaena wouldn’t give Marcus his Ra back so that he could kiss her goodbye because she “wanted to keep that for herself.” < SPOILER OVER > Not nice and not what you do for someone you really love more than yourself. Yet there were parts of this book that were told from Emmy’s perspective and those were my favorite and I think they made up for the rest. I did enjoy this book, despite the passionately outraged commentary earlier and I immediately went and snapped up the next one. All in all, a pretty good read!

I enjoyed the book. The ending surprised me. I was getting ready to buy the next but I've decided against it. I think $4.99 is too much for a book that is so poorly edited. I put up with it when reading the first one because it was free. If I'm going to pay I don't want to have to stop  try to figure out what word the writer intended on using. Poor grammar, poor spelling, and poor sentence structure make it unworthy of my money.

Story line and characters were generally good. However, it was difficult to get past the horrible editing. Typos, wrong words used (even in tittles!), and gramatical errors on every page. The result was a lot of time spent re-reading sentences and rearranging words to make it make sense. The errors ruined the flow of the writing.

So many spelling and grammatical errors. I also felt as if the charactors had no depth. I didnt feel connected with any of them. Disappointed.

Even though I hated the way it ended due to me really liking the twins, it was a good book. This was part two of the series called the Guardians. It's about these angels that was sent down to find an object before anyone else and their only clue is with a girl name Emmy.

I like the story but the editing of this book is terrible.  So many mistakes it is frustrating.  Where house?  Really? Seems like computer spell check is all that was done on this book.

good story BUT -- every single page in every single book of this series has had typos and wrong words. It's terribly distracting and annoying to be constantly fixing the author's writing for them.

Emmy, needs to grow up. She is such a child. I do love this book though. It kind of reminds me of the Maximum Ride series in a way.

First things first, I enjoyed the book. That is when I wasn't stumbling over misspelled words and poorly written sentences. Writer needs to find a new editor, or try spell check.

This is a fun story. Interesting characters, has enough twists to make the plot fresh. I like the changing perspectives. The big problem here is the proofing. Virtualy every page has some type of grammatical or spelling error which is very distracting and makes it harder to take the books seriously. I want to keep on with the series but if the third book is as bad as the second, i may give up unfortunately. For $4.99 a pop, they should be better edited than this book in the current state.

There are grammatical errors, and at times it took a minute to figure out which character was talking. However, the story is completely awesome, and I am truly loving this series.

Ignoring the grammatical errors, typos, and spelling mistakes on nearly every single page that quite literally make me want to rip out my own eyes; this whole series is very good and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys fantasy books. This book took a drastic change than what I thought it would from the first book and I really enjoyed the curve ball it threw at me.
