About the Author

I was born and raised in a small town in Georgia, where I graduated high school and attended Savannah State College. After marrying my college sweetheart, we moved to Ohio, where I earned a Master’s degree in Education from Central State University and taught in Xenia. We have a son, now a neurosurgeon in Springfield, MO, and a daughter, an entrepreneur who owns a trucking company in St. Louis, where we currently reside. I later taught in Missouri for 15 years and pursued postgraduate studies at Yale University in “Thinking Skills.” In the mid-90s, I became an entrepreneur, owning a boutique in the Central West End for 21 years. My husband, Dr. Richard Coger, a retired Assistant Director of Veterans Hospitals and author, and I now enjoy retirement and manage our leased restaurant, The Choice, in South St. Louis.
