I've been fantasizing about a trip where I toss my bulldog in the car and head out for Alaska, to avoid the Texas summer heat. Leave in early July, take a few weeks getting there seeing places in the US I have never seen, spend a few weeks in Alaska fishing, and then turn around an drive back in late August. My wife has heard this fantasy several times and gave me this book as a Christmas present. It answered all my questions, convinced me this is something I really can do, and gave me some insight into all that I need to do before tossing the dog in the car. I don't know if there are other books on the subject but this one met my needs and I enjoyed it.
