Library Journal
Boyle, a lifelong resident of the Connecticut shore, focuses on the 29 towns spread along the 120-mile Connecticut coast. Within this narrow scope she can afford to linger a while and savor some of the area's more obscure attractions. The entries, arranged geographically, provide all the required listings regarding accommodations, rates, and operating hours as well as information on annual events, such as dogwood festivals and fireworks displays. Also included is a history and profile of each town conveying the general character of the community and five special indexes covering topics such as beaches, museums, and seafood shacks. While photographs would have been a nice inclusion, Boyle's prose is so visual it made me homesick. A good resource for the traveler, armchair or otherwise; recommended for public libraries with strong regional/travel collections.--Thomas O'Connell, Murray State Univ. Lib., KY
