I read this book after hearing the author in some lectures. It answered a lot of questions and cleared up some misunderstandings I had of this ancient wisdom. It is very clearly written and has helpful hints and insights along the margins. It opened the way for some more intense exploration. The 13th chapter 'Let the Music Speak' was of particular interest to me as a musician. "...the soul of a Kabbalist resembles a musical instrument that plays properly and feels properly, similar to King David's biblical violin...a Kabbalist feels reality in a certain way and can express it in melodies." p.143. Excellent introductory and concise reference text, if you want the real deal about Kabbalah check this out, it's a must read. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. The universe has been evolving for 14 billion years. From man's perspective the purpose and crowning glory of this evolution is the existence of man himself. So, is it not ironic that man is the only part of evolution that very well may consciously destroy itself. Kabbalah says this paradox can be explained. That there is a reason behind the madness.
In his book, 'A Guide to the Hidden Wisdom of Kabbalah', Michael Laitman reveals the wisdom of Kabbalah in an easy and practical manner. This is an excellent book for beginning and veteran students of Kabbalah.

This new edition of the Guide to the Hidden Wisdom of Kabbalah presents the fundamental concepts of Kabbalah in an informal flowing style that I found both encouraging and uplifting.
The book is essentially a guide to moving Kabbalah from the realm of what some think of as an obscure wisdom, into my everyday life and how I live it.
The important topics expanded on by a variety of sidebar treatments cover the essential points of definitions, facts and common misconceptions of Kabbalah. And the most helpful to me were the tips on how to proceed from 'theory' to practice in my everyday experiences and all the events that are common to people in this world.
I see this as a high value book to use as a quick reference for my questions as well as questions from others directed to me about Kabbalah. This is the guide we all need to navigate through life.

If you had told me that it was possible to fit over 5000 years of wisdom into a 214 page book, I would not have believed you. Then I read this book. It condenses the history, authors, music and much more of Kabbalah into an enjoyable and easy to understand read. It has it's own version of footnotes to help clarify and keep you on track, as well as offer you inspiration. It also offers a reason for the current world situation and a solution of what we can do to correct this crisis that has arisen. Great for beginners or intermediate students of the wisdom of Kabbalah. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
Today more than ever, the wisdom of Kabbalah must be made accessible to all. With this book, the third edition of the title,Rav Laitman has given everyone the opportunity to receive this wisdom in a format that is wonderfully easy to read and understand.
This book utilizes five different kinds of sidebars throughout the text which highlight important points including "Kabbalearn" which provides definitions of Kabbalistic terms, "Tidbits" which are little fun facts about Kabbalah, "Off Course" which clear up misconceptions and show the reader what to avoid in the study of Kabbalah, "Spiritual Sparks" which are quotes and poems from Kabbalists and "On Course," which gives tips on putting all points into practice.
Organized and well planned, this book offers the new reader the basics of Kabbalah so that they may find enough information to begin their journey, and yet gives the serious student of Kabbalah a new, refreshing view of the essence of this true science of spirituality.
Written for our times, the book will be a wonderful tool for the beginner's journey of discovery as well as a welcome addition to any Kabbalah student's library.

The mind is like parachute works when it is open. What can be said about the life and the soul? Do we live or we just have sensation of living? What I have discovered here is that the life without connecting with your soul is not fulfilling and unsatisfactory. The book extends the foundation of Kabbalah to offer the practical fundamental steps on fulfilling this goal. If you are like myself want to discover the complete reality and live with the connection with your soul, this book will not open your mind but will put you on the road of the soul discovery and life worth living. Was this review helpful?
