Amelia Pohl became an attorney in 1985, earning her Juris Doctorate from Nova University, and ran a successful Elder Law practice in the state of Florida before retiring. During her practice of law, Attorney Pohl observed that many people want to reduce the high cost of legal fees by performing or assisting with their own legal transactions. Prior to becoming an attorney, she taught as Associate Professor of Mathematics at a community college in Maryland. Utilizing her background as a teacher, author and attorney to provide that bit of guidance to the general public she wrote this series of self help legal books. Because there is such variation in the laws from state to state each book that is written is state specific. Each state specific book is written with the assistance of an attorney licensed to practice in the given state.
