I have been living with guinea pigs for over 40 years and this is the best book I have found that adequately explains how to care for them. I bought it recently for a friend who was considering adding a guinea pig to her household. This book gave her all of the information she needed to make an intelligent decision. The illustrations are helpful and also fun to look at even for those of us with the live thing nearby. The book goes into details about the care of the guinea pig, including foods and housing and also talks about the personality of the guinea pig. I always keep an extra copy on my shelf to give to kids who come by to visit my guinea pigs.

This book could use more a little more information about raising Guinea Pigs for deep research but for a first time researcher, it is excellent!
