    Aspiring Luthier's Best Friend

This book is the best companion any aspiring Luthier can buy. Dan Erlewine is one of the most respected repair men and builders in the guitar world. This book details how to fix ANYTHING on an acoustic or electric guitar from string changes to detailed wiring schematics. This is a must have for any luthier or for anyone serious enough about thier guitars that want to know how to maintain and repair them thierselves.

    I Also Recommend:

    Best Guitar Maintenance Manual

This book teaches you how to work on your own guitar. This will save a guitarist/bassist a great deal of money over their collective musical lives. Every guitarist should have this on their shelf, Mr. Erlewine is one of the best repair techs in the business and a great teacher. He has collected interviews with other great techs and builders as well as setups of the instruments of many of the greats.

This book covers everything from how to change strings properly to essentially the skills needed for a complete rebuild. If this book where to ever get lost I would immediately replace it. In concert with "how to make your electric guitar play great" which included many of the gauges one needs, you could start a small repair business.
