Good coverage of all phases of the guitar.

I found it a great book for learning the history of the guitar in a quick session.

    I Also Recommend:

Excellent and compact point of reference!

This is a very good starting point for one who is seeking information, inspiration, and/or education to enhance or begin playing this instrument.
Virtually all elements of playing are covered. And, additional resources of information are embedded, as well.

I believe any guitarist at any level from Beginner to Pro would agree this is a valuable source of reference.

For anyone attempting to teach themselves, one of the following manuals would likely be helpful, as well. Enjoy the trip!

    Complete beginner with guitars

I'm starting to learn to play guitar. and picked this up as a reference since it was in the bargain section. I can't say that I have a great deal of knowledge about guitars since I'm a beginner, but i have found things in this book that have been helpful to me. It seems that most guitar books i have found have the same stuff that has been re-printed again and again and again without much changing from one book to the next. I have yet to find one that really stands out and makes me say, "this book is exactly what I needed!" This seems to be a decent book, though.
