This is undeniably a solid rock album that proves how much credit Bucket deserves for the success of his former band.
This album feels like a labor of love. One of the best things about Guitars, Beers & Tears is its sense of urgency and the feeling that these songs had something to say. There is an energy that permeates every track, giving each word and note a sense of necessity. Not a sound or second is wasted on this album.
The album is a swaggering blend of Southern rock, classic rock and framed with a hint of country. Featured vocalists include Adrian Smith (Iron Maiden), Edwin McCain, Steve Conte (New York Dolls), Danny Bowes (Thunder), Robert Hart (Bad Company) and Seth Romano (The Shrill). Bucket took over vocals on the last track 'Mr. Nobody' and really should consider taking on lead vocals more often.
This is an album that reminds everyone how great a songwriter and musician Colwell really is.
