Ninety pages in so far, but I had to review. Very funny, very well-written, this book flows very nicely. The author has found a subject which is quite out of the ordinary- learning to care, through football. Ward really hits close to home for me, as I have recently become a soccer fan, in large part due to the fact that my university has a team. I've never been a sports fan, but I would love to be able to get passionate about 'my' team, just as the author wishes he could reignite the passion he once felt for, well, anything. Definitely a recommended read for both soccer fans and those who are looking for something to care about, I find myself bursting out with laughter every few minutes, as well as nodding in agreement quite often at Ward's descriptions of life's trials. Although I honestly can't help but think it would be even more enjoyable if I, as an American, got half of the references to British people, places and culture. This book is old, but a new find for me, and I highly recommend it.
