This is a great book on the Old West with interesting stories and it doesn't bog down on useless details. It felt good to read an informative book and just have fun doing it. My only criticism is I can't find a hardback version of it.

Unique and fasinating take on a period in Tennessee history. I am impressed with the thoroughness of the stories and the way the author tells them. It is truly a memorable book.

Good material and well told stories on Tennessee's forgotten wild west heros. The stories on the Buffalo soldier from Franklin and John Chisum were fantastic! I would highly recommend it to Tennessee history teachers in the classroom.

If you're from Tennessee or an old west fan, you have to read this book. Gunfighters, mountain men and soldiers. It truly has it all and is an easy read.
