The glorious Styne/Sondheim score is well- performed by the Warner Bros.orchestra under the spirited direction of Frank Perkins. The cast performs surprisingly well for a bunch of nonsingers, and Lisa Kirk does a great job of dubbing Rosalind Russell (who does very good herself on the three bonus tracks). The highlights are "If Mama Was Married",both versions of "Rose's Turn", and especially the hilarious show-stopper "You Gotta Get A Gimmick".All in all, this is an hour of very enjoyable listening.

The glorious Styne/Sondheim score is virtually intact and well-played by the Warner Bros.Orchestra, under the spirited direction of Frank Perkins. The cast performs well for a bunch of nonsingers, and Lisa Kirk does a great job of dubbing Rosalind Russell. The real surprise here is Roz herself-she sounds very good on the three bonus tracks. The highlights are "If Mama Was Married", both versions of "Rose's Turn",and best of all,a hilarious "You Gotta Get A Gimmick". All in all, this is an hour of good listening.
