A good soundtrack to a good movie

The glorious Styne/Sondheim score is virtually intact and well-played by the Warner Bros.Orchestra, under the spirited direction of Frank Perkins. The cast performs well for a bunch of nonsingers, and Lisa Kirk does a great job of dubbing Rosalind Russell. The real surprise here is Roz herself-she sounds very good on the three bonus tracks. The highlights are "If Mama Was Married", both versions of "Rose's Turn",and best of all,a hilarious "You Gotta Get A Gimmick". All in all, this is an hour of good listening.
