Editorial Reviews

Children's Literature - Nancy Garhan Attebury
Superbly detailed, realistic illustrations work well with a rhyming text and full body of added information in this A, B, C book that covers fishing. Rhyming verses tell the alphabetical part of the book from A to Z. Their comprehensive information ranges from topics covering everything from anglers to offshore fishing and urban fishing. Each verse consists of only four lines per double page spread, but holds a plethora of information. Additional text runs along the side of each page and offers details about such topics as bait, cooking fish, ice fishing in tents, and fishing safety. This additional text is presented in paragraphs, lists, and with facts under the title "Fishing for Facts." The book is intended for middle grade students, but the rhyming text may well be enjoyed by younger students. Reviewer: Nancy Garhan Attebury
