Rodolfo Pérez Valero (La Habana, Cuba) Inició su carrera literaria con un best seller nacional, la novela No es tiempo de ceremonias, que se publicó también en países de Europa y América Latina y a la que siguieron otros éxitos como Confrontación y El misterio de las Cuevas del Pirata. Es el único escritor que ha ganado el Primer Premio de Cuento de la Semana Negra de Gijón en cinco ocasiones, 1990, 1993, 1996, 2006 y 2009 con relatos que recientemente reunió en su libro Un hombre toca a la puerta bajo la lluvia. Paco Ignacio Taibo II lo ha calificado como el gran cuentista del neopolicial latinoamericano. Tiene una maestría en Español en la Universidad Internacional de la Florida y trabaja en la televisión hispana en Estados Unidos.
