    Highly Recommended

We used this book in 2008 when we did our first coast-to-coast walk along Hadrian's wall. We're going back to England this spring for our second trek, in the other direction, so I am excited that this guide has been updated to reflect changes in businesses and services along the way. The detailed descriptions, along with a detailed map for each of 45 small segments, were crucial to us in finding the way. Just as important, the author lists other publications and web-sites for the planner's reference, as well as detailed planning lists: what to bring, arrangements to make, recommendations on places to stay, etc. I will get the updated version, even though my older edition is still quite servicable.
