About the Author

The author has made several trips to a remote village in the interior of Guatemala. There he experienced the indigenous life style, which included the ancient Mayan rituals. For several years, he taught a college course on "Sacred Art of Indigenous Cultures," featuring sacred art from around the world. The "shamanistic culture" of Guatemala offers a different view, where a seemingly normal world shifts into experiences of cosmic significance.
