**Acclaim for the Jim Knighthorse Series**

"J.R. Rain is an ex-private investigator, and it shows; Dark Horse is another fast moving and entertaining detective story. Rain is surely destined for larger success; his fiction is fun reading."
—PIERS ANTHONY, bestselling author of On a Pale Horse

"I finished Dark Horse late last night. I enjoyed it immensely—very good story! I really liked your dialogue, which kept me chuckling each time I sat down to read the book. Add great character and scene descriptions and a well-paced plot, and you've got a gripping story indeed. I can easily see Dark Horse moving to the big screen!"
—AIDEN JAMES, bestselling author of Plague of Coins

"Dark Horse is one of the best books I've read in a long time! A great classic detective story with a modern twist. Unique and interesting characters (I think I'm half in love with Jim Knighthorse now!), a great plot that kept me guessing until the end, and some of the funniest lines I've read anywhere. Rain does an amazing job of blending suspense, mystery and humor in this fantastic debut novel destined for the keeper shelf."
—GEMMA HALLIDAY, award winning author of Spying in High Heels

    ANOTHER AWESOME READ!!!

Maybe I'm a litte biased because I happen to really love J.R. Rains' books, and have come to expect a great story everytime, and I was not disappointed. I really enjoyed this book. In the mist of some really heavy scenes and deeply emotional stuff, I found myself laughing. I was happy to see Jim Knighthorse get some closure and the way it happened was simply poetic... I can't wait to see what's in store for him next...

    Highly recommended

I absolutely adore the Jim Knighthorse series. JRRain has written page turners with a studmuffin hero, murder, revenge, love interest, interjecting these stories with humor along the way. Can't wait for the next sequel!

I have read several of J.R. Rain's books and I liked all of them. This book gets to the root of Jim's mother's killer. While solving another case along the way. These books flow from start to finish and the author gets to the point quickly. You are always entertained and surprised.

Jim Knighthorse is a private investigator who is investigating his mother’s murder from over 20 years ago. He follows a lead down into Mexico. He finds a dog that is about to be used as fishing bait and rescues him. He names him Junior. The investigation only gets harder for Knighthorse and it begins to take a toll on his soul.
This book is a bit darker than the first two. It still has very humorous dialog and situations. But the heartache of finding his mothers killer is so painful to read. Jack, aka God, helps him once again come to grips with his past and tries to heal him.
This is a very good book. I highly recommend the entire series.
