Half in Love [Willie Krenshaw] (Siren Publishing Classic)by Lea Barrymire
[Siren Classic: Erotic Paranormal Romance, shape-shifters, vampires, HEA] Willie Krenshaw wanted nothing more than a few minutes watching the waters of Lake Erie after a long workday. What she ended up with was a drugged male vampire and an itch to be a Good Samaritan. When her inner kitty starts sniffing around at the male she's helping, she knows Fate's evil sense of humor is in full swing. Being a shifter-vampire hybrid is hard enough, but having a male vampire as her fated mate is just too much. Nickola, the vampire she assists, finds her breathtaking and does all he can to push Fate's agenda. Stephen is the male vampire Nickola is investigating for the Council. He takes aim at the couple, intent on pulling Nick to his side or killing him. Between Stephen's scheming and the Council's interest in Willie, can they survive the chaos long enough to test the depths of their passions? ** A Siren Erotic Romance

Find this review and more at Lusty Penguin Reviews! Half in Love, the first novella in the Willie Krenshaw series by Lea Barrymire, is an enthralling paranormal romance. Barrymire thoroughly develops her unique paranormal world of vampires, werewolves, and shape-shifters. Willimena “Willie” Krenshaw is part cougar shifter and part vampire because she was partially turned during her youth. Since Willie has one foot in two different worlds and isn’t accepted by either, she lives a lonely existence, which just broke my heart. Willie is blindsided by what fate has in store for her when she helps a wounded vampire, her future mate, Nicola (Nick). Since Willie has always hated vampires because they usually try to kill her on sight, she decides to fight the attraction she has to Nick, even if her cougar side knows she belongs to him. On the other hand, Nick is stunned by his attraction to Willie, mostly because vampires typically do not mate for life. Willie and Nick are a highly entertaining couple because their witty banter provides many laugh-out-loud moments. Nick is an alpha male through and through, but he does not force the mating between the two of them—even if he knows that Willie senses they are to be mates—which just made me fall in love with this leading man. The sexual attraction between them sizzles throughout, and when they finally succumb to their mating desires, it is hot, hot, hot. Willie and Nick are perfect for each other, which makes them a couple to cheer for. Barrymire masterfully balances the building of Willie and Nick’s relationship with a suspenseful plot filled with murder and vampire conspiracies. A mesmerizing couple and intriguing plot make a fantastic beginning to a new paranormal romance series. Since I absolutely love Willie and Nick, I can’t wait to see how their relationship evolves and to meet new couples in future stories. I received an eBook copy of the book for the purpose of an honest review. I was not compensated for this review, and all conclusions are my own responsibility.
