Having eaten at the restaurant in February, 2007, we gladly left with a copy of the cookbook. We have enjoyed every recipe that we have tried in the book. The wasabi viniagrette is wonderful, as is the cheesecake and the mango-pineapple dessert. Living in the DC area makes getting the ingredients fairly easy for us.Was this review helpful? Ate at Gannon's restaurant last summer and wanted to bring a little taste of that great experience into my home. The book is well-written and the pictures are beautiful. I have tried about ten of the recipes and had good success with about half of them. A problem for me is finding the same great quality of ingredients that Gannon uses in her recipes. There is an emphasis on fresh fish and produce, and these are somewhat difficult to locate in my smalltown location in the midwest. Also, many of the recipes are quite time-consuming, even though she calls this 'home coooking.' But, I have really enjoyed experimenting with some new flavors, and every dessert I have tried has been a success. This book is worth buying just to look at the pictures and read the text! Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Having recently eaten at the General Store many times while in Maui, I can attest that their food is truly fine. I was pleased to find some of my favorites in the cookbook; the recipes are not difficult, the photos are wonderful. It is well done. Enjoy. Mahalo. Was this review helpful?
