Halloween Party

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - David Jeffries
Low budget but all heart, the film Halloween Party comes off as a cross between a Lifetime Cable Network movie and an American Pie sequel. Jumble those movies' soundtracks, add some blues-rock, '90s throwback R&B, and a "Monster Mash" vibe, and you've got the general idea of the good times included here, although there is a "low budget" aftertaste. On the other hand, there's the "all heart" bit, best displayed by XX Bottom's "Voodoo," which is as sexy and as damned as Screamin' Jay Hawkin's "I Put a Spell on You." Special mention goes to Analogue Revolution and their track "Eyes," which moderns up Rockwell's paranoid R&B hit "Somebody's Watching Me," but this charming and underfunded soundtrack is best left for fans of the film.
