I love this book it helped me to pass my test I had in my first year in collage. These series of books are just great! I was really bad in Shakespeare but I learned that it was really quite fun. You should totaly get this book, it is incredible!

My take on this book is that it is beautiful, by any examination. It was beautifully written (What a rarity these days), beautifully illustrated (I fell in love with this series), and beautifully designed (I love the care that went into this book). Maybe I just think visually like these authors. Hopefully you will like this book, too. It's impact on my grade was enormous. But, most of all, it's unique, beautiful content helped give me a deeper appreciation for Shakespeare's beauty.

I don't know about others, but this book rocked my understanding of Hamlet! I finally understand who is who and their motivations...this was always hard for me in other classes. Hamlet's family, Polonius's family, and Fortinbras's family all make sense to me now. The background was actually useful for my essay, especially the info on the Comitatus society. I recommend this book highly!!!!!!

I was shocked at the low quality and lack of clarity in this book. After reading the original play, I hoped this book would help me understand some of the deeper complexities of the characters- but it only confused me even further. And how was Fortinbras completely overlooked? I expected far, far better from Sparknotes.

If you want a great overview of every element of Hamlet, this is your book! I loved the character drawings and descriptions; the Plot chapter explained the story of Hamlet better than any book I've ever studied for any literature (there is even a graphic timeline); the Scene by Scene chapter really summerized the play for me and the drawings in that chapter were great for 'seeing' what happend. At last I 'get' Hamlet! Thanks again, SparkNotes!
