Hand Picked: 25 Years of Bluegrass on Rounder Records

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Stephen Thomas Erlewine
Over the course of two CDs, Hand Picked: 25 Years of Bluegrass runs through Rounder Records' back catalog, featuring selections from Ricky Skaggs, B?la Fleck, Alison Krauss, David Grier, Del McCoury, David Grisman, and others. The album gives a good portrait of Rounder's artists, as well as a good sense of bluegrass during the '70s, '80s, and '90s, if not a thorough history.

    Bluegrass The Rounder Way

These are not always obvious artists or songs but when you listen to this sampler you get a good overview of bluegrass. THe choices range from pop covers to old timey gospel. A good choice for beginners.

    Great value, great songs

this is a good deal...two CDs for one price. And these CDs are packed with over 20 songs per CD. Great stuff too. These are not necessarily the ''classic'' tunes every BG player should know--it's not THAT kind of CD. But I bought this CD when I just started playing bluegrass mando and I keep playing it year after year and picking up new things from it. You really can't lose with this one.
