I have used this book for years for the identification of both Greek and Roman coins and have found it to be a fantastic source of information relating to nearly all aspects of ancient coin collecting. This book is profusely illustrated with hundreds of illustrations, several maps of ancient Greece and Rome and contains lists of symbols, city names, mythological characters and Latin inscriptions. I have paid four times the amount of money for books that do not approach the usefulness of this one. I highly recommend it.
I bought this book as a gift for someone just getting started looking at roman coins. I wanted something that was easy to understand, yet very informative and this book was able to accomplish both. This book seems like a book that can be used by either people just getting started, or people who are very into collecting coins.
