I actually like the Handbook of Applied Therapeutics better than the larger Applied Therapeutics: The Clinical Use of Drugs, because it removes the case based approach of the latter. This book if full of useful information, but I didn't like the organization of it. All the figures and tables are at the ends of chapters, so you have to flip back several pages and search for the figure/table referred to in the text. I much prefer the organization of the Pharmacotherapy Handbook published by Appleton & Lange which presents figures/tables as they are being discussed. However, the Handbook of Applied Therapeutics is about two years newer than the edition of the Pharmacotherapy Handbook available when writing this.
