Designed as a pocket version to accompany the text, Applied Therapeutics: Clinical Use of Drugs, Seventh Edition, this portable handbook contains key reference material that summarizes important text with practical information in a condensed format. It follows the same chapter structure as the text and employs a system and disorder-based approach in its presentation. Includes a comprehensive scope of areas as they relate to drug information, and covers such topics as dermatology, psychiatry, oncology, drug abuse, and more. Features several tables that are easily accessible for locating key information effectively at a glance.
This book is designed as a pocket version to accompany the main text Applied Therapeutics: Clinical Use of Drugs, 7th Edition.

I actually like the Handbook of Applied Therapeutics better than the larger Applied Therapeutics: The Clinical Use of Drugs, because it removes the case based approach of the latter. This book if full of useful information, but I didn't like the organization of it. All the figures and tables are at the ends of chapters, so you have to flip back several pages and search for the figure/table referred to in the text. I much prefer the organization of the Pharmacotherapy Handbook published by Appleton & Lange which presents figures/tables as they are being discussed. However, the Handbook of Applied Therapeutics is about two years newer than the edition of the Pharmacotherapy Handbook available when writing this. Was this review helpful?
