Description: This eighth edition is a concise update on diagnostic and therapeutic strategies for the management of a broad spectrum of diseases. It makes for a nice resource for busy clinicians.
Purpose: The purpose is to present current systemic treatment options and, in particular, advances in the area of targeted therapy. The utility of this book is clear, and the authors have succeeded in achieving their objectives.
Audience: This is a great reference for a wide range of specialists, but it is also appropriate for those interested in expanding their mastery of oncologic terms and treatment options. The spectrum of authors who provided assistance in collaborating is impressive and their expertise is easily recognized.
Features: The greatest achievement this book offers is the breadth of information covered. This was done in an effective and concise manner.
Assessment: The book provides strong clinical information for busy clinicians in a medical oncology office while also being appropriate for medical students exploring oncology at a more basic level.
