Philosophy has been called "the Great Conversation" because philosophers have debated great ideas in great books for centuries. Among the most important topics in philosophy are "Is there a God, and if so, what is His nature?", "What is the meaning of life?" and "Does man have a life after death?" This superb book does an outstanding job of summarizing the arguments both pro and con for these (and other) topics. The book is clear, concise, cogent, fair and convincing. This book demonstrates that the odds are in favor that God exists, that man has an immortal soul, and that the purpose of life is that "God's work on earth must truly be our own." Gilbert Keith Chesterton and Clive Staples Lewis were great popularizers of Christian apologetics, and the Handbook is a worthy addition to that tradition. This book is truly one of the Great Books of the Western World and I give it my highest recommendation. One of the key measure of any book is "Is it true?" and "If it's true, so what?" This book is true, and the consequence is that the reader will realize that Christianity is true. This is the best Christian book on apologetics available, and that is quite an achievement.
