The first section, on muscle development, examines early development and fusion of muscle cells, differentiation of muscle fibers, and skeletal muscle growth. Section two, on the development of blood and hematopoiesis, examines developmental changes in blood as a whole, the ontogeny of hemopoiesis, and developmental patterns of human hemoglobin synthesis. The final section on the development of immunity and immune systems looks at the development of lymphoid tissues, and the histocompatibility system in health, disease, and aging.
