Overview

It is now ten years since the last edition of this classic text appeared, and since then the growth of salmon and trout culture around the world has led to the emergence of many new and distinctive problems. This new third edition is greatly revised, with considerable use of color illustrations, and provides a wealth of information on new diseases and on new problems with older ones. It also addresses newer production technologies and their disease problems and new treatments, such as vaccines, which were merely promising research topics when the last edition was produced.

Handbook of Trout and Salmon Diseases is the product of 50 years of combined experience in the salmon farming industry by two veterinarians who have been involved from the very start. The areas of major revision include new culture systems, salmon lice, PKD agent, Gyrodactylus salaris and newer salmonid viruses, practical diagnosis, sampling, and new products for treatment and prevention of disease.
