Being an amateur, I went to library first and check this book out. I found it so useful and informative, I decided I had to have it!

Buy this book! It's clear, easy to read with excellent easy to understand directions. It's lavishly illustrated with images from around the world in a variety of styles from old fashioned portraits to modern abstract works. The authors have a breezy style and a great sense of humor and most importantly, they are enthusiastic. The authors made me feel very inspired and confident. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and learned a lot and now I'm on my way to becoming a handcolorist!
