Garrett's book on hand planes is THE book on hand planes. I have read dozens of them and no author I have yet come across holds a candle to Garrett's in-depth knowledge, thorough explanations, and simple, humble writing style. Like all of Hack's furniture, this book is literally a work of art. Whether I want to learn another little gem of hand plane advice or just want to relax and look over the beautiful photos, this book is one of my absolute favorites to pick up. HIGHLY recommended.
