Editorial Reviews

From Barnes & Noble
The Barnes & Noble Review
With thousands of podcasts fighting to be heard, you can’t settle for “amateur hour” anymore. Whether you want to podcast audio or video -- for profit or fun -- this up-to-the-minute book will guide you straight to professional-quality results.

This isn’t just about the tools and technologies: It’s about putting them to work well, and avoiding the gotchas you’d run into on your own. Everything’s here, from web-based aggregators to moblogging, studio acoustics to video post-production, choosing hosts to defining business models.

As befits its title, this book is relentlessly hands-on, and it’s full of tips on everything from negotiating bandwidth prices to improving your voice-overs. There’s also an absolutely crucial guide through the thickets of licensing, copyright, and permissions. Plus: three real-world case studies, including Rocketboom, whose audience now exceeds that of many cable TV shows. Bill Camarda, from the July 2006 Read Only

From the Publisher
"Clear directions for how to create blogs and podcasts are accompanied by a huge amount of helpful information about blogging, hosting sites, and the online world in general, including explanations of terms that can be confusing for the uninitiated." -Camcorder and Computer Video

"The authors are thorough, providing relevant references and resources for getting your video blog and/or podcast up and running quickly and efficiently. We were especially happy to see a chapter on licensing and copyright, two important aspects of blogging and podcasting that most of us need to learn about." -Camcorder and Computer Video
