Meet the Author

Hangman's Choice, written in 2000, is the first book of the popular Dead or Alive trilogy, followed by Devil's Due and Blood Money. All three are part of the newly released series of Western Classics, written by national best-selling author Ralph Cotton. Ralph has achieved notable success with the publication and sales of over fifty novels; most have been or are on the New York Times Bestseller List.
Ralph lives on the Florida Gulf Coast with his wife Mary Lynn. He writes prodigiously and his books remain top sellers in the Western and Civil War/Western genres. Ralph enjoys painting, photography, sailing and playing guitar. His imagination is comfortable building characters and working with events in the past, but he reaches to the present and future to find the best way to present them.
The Western Classic series of novels introduces Ralph Cotton to a new generation of readers who will enjoy them for the first time, and find pleasure in re-reading them for years to come.

    Wonderful adventure tale!

Mr. Cotton keeps you on the edge of your chair. My husband started me to reading his work. Now I am hooked. Hangman Choice is one of the best yet. I already can't wait to read the next one of this series. Bravo Mr. Cotton!

    Ralph Cotton's new series!

Again, author Ralph Cotton puts his own unique style of writing into America¿s Western Heritage. HANGMAN¿S CHOICE is a great read! The story moved so fast and kept me on edge, I simply couldn¿t put it down. His characters put life into the West. My collection of Cotton¿s novel continues to grow¿ And with a new series now underway, it won¿t be long until it¿ll take an entire bookshelf to hold them.

    Another Ralph Cotten Classic

I read every new book by this writer as soon as it comes on the market. Hangman's Choice is one that will be around for a long time to come. Nobody but Cotten, or maybe McMurtry, can have a group of hardcore gunmen shooting golf balls at a herd of buffalo and make the reader believe it. Cotten not only makes you believe it, he makes you want more of it. One outlaw says to another, 'It's a shame what's happening to the buffalo, soon there will be none left to kill.' While a lot of writers talk about who will be the next Louie LaMoore, Cotten rides in and brings the town to its feet with a style of action and adventure that is his alone. Hangman's Chioce is the first in a new series. I hope the next one comes soon. Mr.Cotten, you need to start writing faster.
