Meet the Author

Margit Amundsen did not join Roald Amundsen on his 1926 North Pole expedition. She dislikes possums. She can do an uncanny imitation of Hayley Mills. Her laughter is so loud that it startles small children. She does not always drink milk, but when she does, she drinks chocolate milk.

When I started reading this, I wasn't sure where it was headed,

When I started reading this, I wasn't sure where it was headed, but the main character and her observations pulled me in. I liked the oddball students and professors that Hannelore has to deal with, and I liked following her adventures in dating. She's also not a cookie-cutter protagonist, so I liked that as well. There are some laugh-out-loud moments in this book and there are also more subtle scenes that reminded me of situations I've experienced in school or in life. I plan to recommend this to my friends and family members who like smart dialogue and interesting characters. Other books I've liked include Pride and Prejudice, I Capture the Castle, Bridget Jones's Diary, Rebecca, Lucky Jim, and Anne of Green Gables.
