Without a nook color, I haven't seen any "Colored Plates," but the "Profusely Illustrated" part is a nice touch, especially in a free book. Has OCR errors (e.g. ** instead of ") but still quite readable.
This is a wonderful collection of Hans Christian Anderson's greatest stories. I am so happy to have found it! It even includes many beautiful illustrations to compliment your place in the story. The only setback this product may have is that it is basically a copy of a very old document so it is subject to the occasional smudge and stain. Not to worry though since I have yet to come to a story that I couldn't read due to excessive blotches. Another minor setback this collection may have applies only to those reading it on their eReaders. It doesn't have a table of contents so their is no easy access to certain stories or even a way of knowing which stories are included, but not to worry! You can always look up certain key words (like the title) that can lead you to whatever story you're looking for. Besides, if you want it on your eReader it's for free! Overall I think this collection's benefits greatly outway it's flaws.
One of my favorite Andersen fairy tales growing up was "The Tinder Box." Some of these stories are a little dark, but they are full of adventure and imagination. I would recommend them for ages 6+, but please preview the stories before you read them to your children as some may be quite inappropriate.
i was always a fan of hans christian andersen. i wanted to have some of his stories in my collection.
Not my idea of good
The formatting on this version is just atrocious. It makes it terribly hard to read. Fairy Tales should not be so difficult to understand. If you're considering purchasing this...look around for a different version.
Gave to my Friend at her baby shower she loved it. The baby is due next month.
