Woman hires man to find her missing fianc but finds love instead. Sophia Vanderwahl had hired Jack MacAuley to search for her philandering fianc. On the voyage from England to Yucatan, Sophia's feelings for Jack grow strong, making her forget she had ever promised anything to her fianc Harlan Penn. The characters may have been typical, but the Yucatan settings and legends are most unusual. They work quite well here, which makes the book interesting and magical. Tanya Anne Crosby has come up with another winner! -- Affaire de Coeur

There are some sort of funny parts in the book. Nothing that truly makes you laugh out loud. But about the middle or a little past the middle of the book there is a most disturbing scene. This is why the book his such a bad rating on my scale: Sophia masturbates while without her knowing, Jack watches and he too is tempted to do what she is because he won't have sex with her. Now I'm being frank because the whole scene sickened and disturbed me. I don't want people to pick up this book and think it 'innocent with a few love scenes'. This was more of a heavy lust that couldn't be sated. I just don't like reading romances that deal with lust. This is all this book is. It had potential to be a good book, but from the beginning where Jack and Sophia meet it is flat out L-U-S-T. I'd only recommend this to people who can read nearly erotic literature.
