    Jumping Into That Other World.

    Are you outside looking in? Most of us have a birth certificate that states the date and time of our birth; could you image not knowing your exact birth date? Well in this novel, "American Girl 1864: Happy Birthday, Addy!" that is the dilemma of Addy. Addy was born during the slavery era and she does not know her exact birth date. She needs to choose a date that she thinks is special to celebrate as her own special day. As Addy determines which day she wants as her birth date she learns a few things about the world around her in Philadelphia. Come in . step back to 1864, learn about Addy's life as well as the truths she learns in this book titled "Happy Birthday, Addy!" After the story the section "Looking Back: Growing Up in 1864" offers a brief history lesson for readers.

    It was a great book

    This book would be my first choice above any book . Its sad and funny. It's a great book for children all ages. It's drama, comical and grate. My family loves it even my brother now he likes to read .

    Youll want to read it again and again

    Addy doesnt know when her birthday is so when she can choose any day of the year to celebrate Addy picks a day that will go down in history as an important and happy times in US history
