This is an excellent book, a must read for people starting with computers. You will learn the true meanning of computers and a lot of goodies that you can do with. If you are one the users that usually wants to go straightforward to the tools, be a little bit patience because the book has a lot of stories about the authors experience, but with a lot of humor so you will not get bore.

I really enjoyed this book and it's follow up uber hacker. I would strongly recomend this book to newbies or people with out much background in this area. It was interesting reading too!

Covers a lot of the basics, including Unix, hacker ethics and geek culture. The best general overview of hacking in print, imho. Step by step examples demonstrate some cool ways to hack yourself :)

This Book is an 'upgrade' to the Original one, and includes hacks for the newer versions of windows, and has a little more detail, and Greater Compatability than the Original, I recomend this to anyone who wants to be a 'Legal' Hacker, doing tricks on your computer to impress your friends.

This is a very good book for those of you who want to be a hacker(not a cracker though)It gives info about what things you need and were to get them and lets you learn as you read, instead of the other books that your just supposed to copy the source code from.

wow. This book has too much information - it teaches you how to hack, but also anything you've wanted to know about how the internet works. It tells you what you can do without breaking the law, how to get a *good* shell account, and how not to get kicked from your ISP.Buy it(unless you're a wannabee cracker \/\/H0 7yp35 l1k3 th15 2b kewl + 31337 - in which case keep using windows and download those automated programs that don't work, or destroy your data - fools!)
