Overview

Between revving engines, smoking tires, and high speeds, two friends form a vital bond in the shadows of the blaring spotlight.
Sway Reins, a track owner’s only daughter, and Jameson Riley, a gritty NASCAR rookie driver, have been friends since they were kids.
Over the years, Sway becomes his safety shield during his rapid rise to the elite levels of auto racing. A night of celebrating a victory leaves Sway believing that she can convince Jameson to fall in love with her. Soon she becomes determined to be more than just a pit lizard trolling the pits. Little does she know that this steadfast racer has his own idea of revelry.
As their passion revs, the inner workings of an internal combustion engine have never been so erotic.
Just a taste turns into a thirst neither of them saw coming.
Can she convince this rookie he can have love and his dream?

This is Book One in the Racing on the Edge Series. This is where the magic begins. This is the story of Jameson and Sway, thier extended family, and how their love began. There are ups, and downs, and all arounds, but it is funny, intense, sensual, romantic. You laugh out loud, you feel so many emotions, and you really fall in love with both of them. Not only am I crazy about Jameson, but I like and admire Sway as well. I really loved the characters in the book. I was so happy the other three books in the series were already out also. They are characters that will stay with me long after the last page is turned. I am a huge fan of authors like J.R. Ward, Susan Elizabeth Phillips, Joey Hill, Suzanne Brockman, Olivia Cunning, Kele Moon. I feel they write with such a depth of character and emotion. They are my auto-buy authors. Shey Stahl is now also at the top of that list.

HOLY MOTHER OF ANGSTY CLIFFHANGERS! Shey Stahl, what were you thinking?! This book has me completely torn up! I love love love the characters...each one of them. Jameson worked his way up in the racing circuit to fame in NASCAR, and Sway is there every step of the way to support and love him, and he knows this...another redeeming quality making him swoon worthy. Both the heroine and hero have their own trials to go through, but they've always been there for each other. First as best friends, later growing into a little flirtatous banter, and then developing into full out love. I won't touch on the secondary characters, but they are all just as great as the hero and heroine. All are supporting and lend a significance to the character building of the hero and heroine. Aside from the story of Sway and Jameson, Shey Stahl gives us quite the treat of the true racing experience. Her racing descriptions are accurate and real, making me believe I'm back in Daytona in February once again. Her chapter precursors are so in tune with the events and characters of the chapters they parallel. Her heart stopping ending had me reeling on edge, and I still haven't come down from the adrenaline rush. Actually, Shey Stahl pumped my adrenaline throughout the whole book. But, when all is said and done, there is a sense of family, of togetherness among long time friends in this book. I give my stamp of approval and recommend this book for those who love a funny, feel-good, home-spun read with enough angst and excitement to make me continue the series. You can find the extended review on my blog and on Goodreads.

I would have stayed up all night to read this book if I didn't have to work the next day. It was amazing, loved the story line and I fell in love with the characters. Great story about racing, love, drama, and plenty of laughter. The terminology in this book cracks me up, you'll know what I mean when you read the book. I'm so pumped about the next three books in this series I can't hardly wait!!!

I LOVED this book!!! One of my favorite parts was how distinctive it was (I’d never read something like this before). The author weaved in racing, drama, love and laughs in the perfect combination. At the beginning of each chapter there’s a definition to a racing term and then the author weaves that into the chapter perfectly. I’m not much of a race fan but I enjoyed this story immensely. Finished it quickly as I literally couldn’t put it down. The family ties, the racing community, the love…all provided the perfect mix in my mind. Can’t wait for the next!
