(Stand-Alone Story)

The Happy Pants Café has no public information-no website, no address, no phone number-and it doesn't show up on any map, either. Yet, there's a line of single women around the block, waiting to get inside. And when they come out, their smiling faces don't look like coffee buzzes. (Or afterglows.)

So what could they possibly be doing inside?

Harper Branton thinks she knows their dirty little secret, and it's just the story to save her mess of a journalistic career. There's just one problem: her competition. He's sexy, he's arrogant, and he's about turn Harper's life upside down with a few secrets of his own.

It was funny, charming, witty, romantic, sexy...(Shall I keep going?)  Happy Pants Cafe caught me by surprise! All of my favorite elements in a romance were thrown into the mix. A little bit of childhood sweethearts, a little second chance romance and a dash of the supernatural made for not only an intriguing story but a heartfelt one as well. Harper and Austen grew up together and were the best of friends. They might have even ended up together if Harper hadn't witnessed him kissing another girl that simultaneously broke her heart and ruined her outlook on love. Now 20 years have passed and the two come face to face as reporters competing for a story about the Happy Pants Cafe. A place where people eat a special cookie and find the one they end up spending their lives with afterwards.  Austen and Harper had the kind of chemistry a reader dreams about. They had a deep connection as kids but ad adults they have this "love to hate to love you" sort of banter that is equal parts delicious and sexy. Harper is carrying a 20 year grudge towards Austen for crushing her 9 year old heart and Austen is mad at her for moving away without saying goodbye. Harper was very stubborn but being in her head was interesting and fun to say the least. She spoke her mind and kicked some a** in her daily life and I didn't think she would ever soften up but that was half the fun of the story. Watching her walls crumble. It took some effort on Austen's part but with his equally stubborn yet very sensitive side he was no match for Harper. She couldn't resist him when she kept remembering the boy she always loved. Austen was one of those guys that had a softer side and wasn't scared to let it show but at the same time he was manly and firm. The author did a brilliant job with developing his character. I absolutely loved the journey these two went on and getting a look back at their budding friendship early on was a real treat. One of the best moments between them was a particularly scary incident that Austen saves Harper from that could have gone really wrong had he not been there. This was one of the best fluffy and adorably hot romances I've read in a while and I can't wait to see what's next because the story doesn't end here.  One of the only pet peeves I found with the story was a minor reference to that book with a grey tie on it. I am so sick of hearing about that ripped off bunch of plagiarized B.S. and having it in a book I was actually enjoying, no matter how minor the reference, was almost off putting for me. I know it's petty but that's just me and I can't be anything else. Thankfully though I managed to put aside my extreme hatred and enjoyed this book for what is was. A fantastically penned second chance/childhood sweetheart reconnecting romance filled with amazing one liners, great character chemistry and a meaty story that will carry on into the next book. I am so glad I decided to give this one a chance because I am in love with Pamfiloff and her writing now. Happy Pants is a great way to decompress and take your mind of your troubles if you need something light and sweet that will leave a smile on your face.

Okay... I'm not going to be a scared little girl and hide behind my mommy. Oh no! I'm going to say this woman what I think about her... right now! She's the most hard-working, genius, absolutely fabulous woman that I have not meet yet. Her books are the works of a genius and she's not scared to try new things, to see how her readers (and new readers, because people get hooked on her books automatically) react to her new books. From my experience as her reader, I can say with all my heart, that I LOVE every little word that she writes- seriously woman, you can give me a... let's say... bag and write about it and I'm going to write you an ode where how brilliant you are because you deserve it. From the first moment when I bought your book ("Accidentally married to... a vampire?"),because of a dear blogger had recommended you, I was... yours... Afte that we had "King's"and now I can't wait to read the next books you will publish, even though some of them will be an ending bittersweet for me, especially if we consider these beautiful years that you gave me...  us, your readers. I'm sure that I'm going to cry a little, but in the same time I can't wait to find out what you have prepared for us... Now...about this new story, it was so funny and sweet like a cake with ice cream and I loved every word in it... from the moment when we meet Austin Royce and how infuriantingly sexy he is, but like every man candy that you created, we can't help ourself and fall for them.  Let's not comment about his relationship, or the lack of thereof, with our witty, crazy journalist and  feminist, Harper Branton. Well this story starts with Harper who is one of the happiest woman alive because she (finally) has her columne in  for the San Francisco Tribune. You may say that she doesn't need anything else, right?  Wrong! She needs to write about something, something big that will launch her career and make her unforgettable. But in her way stands Austin Royce, a man who she has a history  with, but hasn't seen him for some time- you'll find more about it when you'll read the book-so  she doesn't expect him to reappear in her life after all this time, but he does and everything about their relationship is crazy wonderful, intense and their steamy conversations will have many ladies pants in a bunch, so expect all the hotness ladies! All because of a little cafe owned by Luci Leon-Parker, a seventy years old lady, but what is really important is not her, even though she has her own role in this situation, it's all about Happy Pants Cafe, because you need just one little visit to find your true love.Harper would say something like... Liar, Liar, pants on fire, because... let's face it... in our age, is hard to admit that true love exist, more so love at first sight. But, that's what fate has prepared for our sarcastic, non-believer in soulmate aka Harper.  If you want a great sexy romance with so many funny moments that you'll almost pee yourself, while laughing so hard that it hurts, I highly recommend this book or any of her other books. Seriously, people, this woman is like a writing machine and none of her books will dissapoint you. And let's not forget the hot men and steamy situations, right ladies?

Absolutely a fun and tangled weave of two competitive childhood friends running into each other after decades a part. Fabulous read with great world building, well fleshed out characters to fall in love with, and fun story line. I immensely enjoyed this book!

Harper doesn't believe in true love. She only believes in getting the story she is after. As a columnist her job is on the line if she doesn't get the story behind Happy Pants Cafe. She isn't alone in the hunt for the story another columnist is also trying to get the scoop and he has already almost cost her her job. Austin wants the scoop but he wants Harper more. They have a history and he has never forgot what she did years ago. She left without saying goodbye. Now years later they keep butting heads. The Happy Pants Cafe seems to bring true loves together but these two may be more than even a special cookie can handle. Austin is a very sexy man. He has plans for his future and he doesn't want to be stuck doing this type of columns. He can be very stubborn, jealous at times and can make you laugh as well. Harper is a facts person. She doesn't believe in nonsense like love. She wants to keep her job. She has a sense of humor some don't get. She can also be very stubborn and has been jealous of Austin for a while. Whether in anger or lust there always seems to be some kind of heat coming from Harper and Austin. Usually couples in books are opposites or have some in common. Not these two at all. They both seem just a like. What sets one off will set the other off as well. They have the same jobs and while they both want each other something keeps coming between them. There is tons of hilarity in this book. Harper had me laughing several times from pigs to spiders to a whole lot more. I liked the plot of this and all the characters I met while reading it. The back story to the cafe was a very sweet touching one. I look forward to more books in this series as this one makes an amazing start.

Since I picked up the first Accidentally Yours book I have fell in love with Mimi's writing. Her style is completely her own and always has me laughing. I could not put this book down. Its a romantic comedy that does not disappoint.
