"There's no way to put a [Vachss book] down once you've begun.... The plot hooks are engaging and the one-liners pierce like bullets." —Detroit Free Press

Vachss is good . I live in NYC, and not too far from the main bus terminal (Penn Station), either. Steady flow of young meat into the city, into harm's way. They are waiting there for them, as Vachss writes. He captures part of the undeside of NY spot-on (though it has a thousand faces). A little stylized but then who isn't. Bite the candy and see.Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Hard Candy is gritty but great like the rest of Andrew Vachss' novels. It is sometimes grim and sad, but also sexy and funny. Like the rest of his books, it's difficult to put down once started. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
