This is my first book I`ve read by this author and I like it very much. This is a sweet story, both characters are very loveable and I loved the steamy part :) You can`t help but fall in love with Aiden, his dedication to his mother is just amazing.
I really recommend this book, if you haven`t read it yet!

Personally, I preferred the first book in this series. I had to push myself to finish this one. The story was good, but at certain points I wanted to shake Sadie and just say "for crying out loud, forgive the guy, would you"! It was a bit drawn out, but had it's moments. Worth the read. I was trying to decide between 3 and 4 starts. I would give it 3.5 if I could. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Sadie has had nothing but disappointed in men. Since her ex fiancé left her for her sister, she vowed she never date anyone beyond one date. Until she meet Aiden, he got pass her one day rule and it happened all over again ands was left with a broken heart. Aiden has got his own problems trusting people since his now ex wife left him for his business partner and took everything in the divorce. His mom was dying of cancer and didn't have time for a relationship and called Sadie to break it off. Aiden hasn't seen Sadie in a long time, until his cousin wedding. Aiden knew he made a mistake by letting her go and seeing her only made him want her. Sadie still isn't over Aiden but he broke her heart and there's no going back. As things turn out they see each other almost everyday but the more she sees him, it's hard for her to not have feelings for him all over again. Aiden is going to do whatever he has to do to get Sadie back. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

Really great story! Lots of heart. This is the first book I've read by the author, Jessica Lemmon. I plan to read the rest of the books in this series, and look into other series by Jessica Lemmon. The main characters were both likable. Sadie got a little on my nerves, but I got where she was coming from. It was nice to see Aiden taking charge, and going after what he wanted. It's nice to have a story about a strong man, who isn't sleeping with every woman who glances his way. Looking forward to reading the first in the series Temping the Billionaire, and the next in the series The Millionaire Affair. Great series, and heartfelt writing. It's a quick read, and makes you want to keep reading. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.

HARD TO HANDLE is the second chance love story for Aiden and Sadie. It starts off when they meet for the first time since their sudden break-up at Shane and Crickitt's wedding where they are the Best Man and Maid of Honor. They both realized the love they had for each other was still there, but while Aiden tries to apologize in hopes they can start over, Sadie is still too prideful, hurt and angry at Aiden for the way he ended things. (Their initial meeting, whirlwind romance, and break-up is in the prequel novella Can't Let Go).
Luckily for Aiden, fate seems to step in several months later when Sadie is forced to work with him. He grabs this opportunity to spend time with her and show her he not only regrets his previous decision, but still cares deeply for her and believes they are meant to be together. There are many ups and downs to his pursuit as Sadie is quite stubborn and gun shy about trusting another man with her heart since it's already been broken badly. Twice. The second time by Aiden. She keeps finding herself drawn in by him, but then panics, and pulls back. She finally decides to offer him a physical relationship only, but Aiden wants it all. Marriage, kids, and forever are his end game. It becomes a matter of how far he is willing to go for the woman he loves, when she is too stubborn, prideful, and controlling to trust the love they have is the happily ever after kind.
I have to say Jessica Lemmon did a great job drawing me into the struggle between these two characters. Aiden was amazing and so sincere. He was a man who had been burned by his cheating ex-wife, then lost his mother who he was very close to (and in the process of standing by his Mom and her last wishes lost Sadie), nearly died in a horrible motorcycle accident yet had come out the other end with a clear vision of the future he wanted for himself. He was gorgeous ( Sadie often refers to him as a golden Adonis), strong yet unselfish, alpha man in every way and not afraid to be honest about his feelings. Especially to Sadie. He continually tells her how special she is to him and shows her his devotion and love.
Sadie has also been deeply hurt. First when her ex-fiance, Trey dumps her about a month before the wedding because he us in love with her younger sister, then marries her instead of Sadie. Then when she meets Aiden, he quickly breaks through all her walls and steals her heart only to leave her even more devastated than Trey when he suddenly breaks their relationship off so he can leave the state to be with his mother while she receives a specialized treatment for her cancer. She decides she is destined to always be left and vows to never marry or let someone close enough to leave her again.
Lemmon tells their story in a way that is at times heartrending and emotionally intense, yet humorous and lighthearted at others. It was easy to see they belonged together and interesting to read about their journey to their HEA.

Sadie's been burned by Aiden once - dumped when she was falling in love with him. He knows he
blew it and realizes he's still in love with her - and isn't it lucky they get thrown together at work?

Both characters are hot, and both have some deep emotional scars and fears. I liked the way they
both ran hot and cold, though at the end, it became a little annoying, too. The first sex scene was
handled beautifully, IMO, and applause for use of condoms. Also, many covers seem cookie cutter,
like they were chosen at random - this actually fits what both characters were wearing in a particular
scene, which is refreshing (and it also reflects the steaminess of that scene).
The first chapter was a little hard to hook into, until it came to the place where Sadie was hammered
and asking Aiden to undress her.
Light, funny, poignant in a few areas. Loved the treehouse. Fun contemporary read, and while it
does include a billionaire or two (Shane, from the previous novel), Aiden is endearingly broke, and
the book works well as a stand-alone.

Sadie may be strong, confident and may have, on occasion suffered from tunnel vision, which cost her a trip down the aisle, but she was willing to break her “one date” rule for Aiden. When a family crisis took Aiden hundreds of miles away, he dropped Sadie with a phone call, and crushed her completely. Of course he thought he was doing the right thing, but he has regretted it ever since and he wants her back. Can he convince her to take a chance on him again? Is she ready to see that, just maybe, the world isn’t colored in pure blacks and whites and that it is okay to need someone?
Hard to Handle by Jessica Lemmon is one of those warm romances with just enough angst and tension to get completely involved in! Sometimes I just love a story where two people just seem perfect for each other, but there are obstacles to overcome first. Jessica Lemmon veered a little off the well-worn contemporary romance path by adding some slightly different plot elements and some completely humorous moments between Sadie and Aiden, giving a fresh feel to this romance with “heart.” Her characters are well-developed, including some of the satellites, who I would love to see more from, by the way!
Light, well-paced, with great world-building and some sigh-worthy moments, Hard to Handle is a good testament to perseverance and learning to trust!

ONCE BURNED Sadie Howard never dates a guy more than once-but Fate has other plans for her when it comes to Aiden Downey, the one that got away. Aiden loved her, left her, and broke her heart. Yet suddenly she's bumping into him at every turn, driven to distraction by his wicked grin and rock-hard body. Now she can't resist finishing what they started-as long as she doesn't let herself fall in love . . .
TWICE AS TEMPTING Aiden Downey threw away the best thing he ever had when he let Sadie go, and now he's determined to win back the woman he's always wanted. Sadie agrees to let him into her life-and her bed-as long as there are no strings attached. But Aiden's not about to make the same mistake again. Can he convince her to take a second chance on a once-in-a-lifetime love?
Aiden and Sadie for me are a perfect example of the best kind of couple in contemporary romance, their honesty with each other along with the totally off the charts chemistry make them very easy to root for and very easy to feel comfortable with in the way one does with a longtime friend.
The main thing that hooked me on believing in the pair as a couple was their ability to accept each other for who they were without wanting them to be someone that fit a mold that society or their family members deemed acceptable.
Aiden was the only man in her life that ever took the time to actually enjoy Sadie's company and to make her feel at ease rather than like she had to be on her guard all the time, that was something that endeared him instantly.
Do not be fooled this was not a simple case of two characters who fell in love and then hit a rough spot, the intensely emotional heartache that caused their breakup was a decision that any of us would have had a hard time dealing with and even though it was handled badly on both their parts their second chance at being happy together more than made up for it!
It was a long hard road for these two with lots of misunderstandings, misgivings and second guessing! The final HEA was worth waiting for as these two worked hard for it.

I really enjoyed this book. Sadie’s in a bit of an unusual line of work (at least in my limited experience) for a woman – she’s a supplier of auto (esp. motorcycle) parts, or at least she sells for a company that supplies motorcycle parts to shops. She’s still all woman, very girly girly at times, but it’s a different career choice. She’s been relationship-shy her entire life, until Aiden the year before, and then, well, he dumped her (for a reason that seemed good at the time to him, but … not so much for her). And then he shows up at the chain of stores she’s trying to land, so she can get top sales-person for the quarter at her job. The sparks fly again.
Aiden is incredibly devoted to his family, having given up everything the year before to take care of his mother when she was diagnosed with cancer, needing end-of-life-type care. He made a not-so-great decision and blames himself for her dying. This angst/guilt was admirably wrapped up over the course of the book.
I fell in love with these guys, as they struggled to overcome the mistakes of the past and find their way back to each other. Aiden is never a typical asshat alpha male, and comes to realize sincerely where he screwed up when it came to Sadie. Sadie learns to trust her heart once again, though it takes a bit to do that. They both show some great growth as people (esp. Aiden as he deals with survivor’s guilt over his mother’s death) and I found nothing unbelievable about anything in this whole book. No eye-rolling moments at all.
I hope to see more by Ms. Lemmon in the future. Thanks to NetGalley and her publisher.

I enjoyed reading this story, from the very beginning there is a sexual tension between Sadie and Aiden that they can't deny. They have a past and secrets that makes it impossible for the two of them to see a future together. Saide, after being left by her ex-fiance is determined to move on and not date anyone more than once. Yet, when she meets Aiden, she can't resist the pull that they have towards each other and lets him into her heart. On the other hand, Aiden has always been the weaker one in his family. He ties to be successful, but chances to get what he wants stop as soon as his mother passes away. He takes the blame for not doing enough, but what torn him apart was ending his relationship with Sadie.
Now the two reunite and can't seem to stay from each other. This makes things complicated for the two of them and they will have to learn to keep their desires at bay if they don't want to get hurt again.
I truly liked this book, it was very well-written and a page-turner. I loved the chemistry between Sadie and Aiden, they both want each other yet they can't seem to accept what they want. Overall, this book was great and I recommend everyone to try it out, and the first book of the series as well.

This was my very first Jessica Lemmon book and I have to say, I am impressed. I really loved this book. I loved Sadie. She was cute, witty, smart, and everything I love in a heroine. She fell for the super sexy biker Aiden once and was burned and she was bound and determined to not go there again.
Aiden is hot. Smoking hot. All broody, tatted up biker. He burned Sadie, but he totally regrets doing it. And he burned her for good reason. He's been through a lot and he is on the road to recovery. He's taken a vow of celibacy until marriage and trying to wear Sadie down. Sadie wants no part in marriage after her engagement goes bad when her sister steals her man. Sadie just wants some sexy times with Aiden, no strings attached.
So, can Aiden wear Sadie down or can Sadie convice him to just have the sexy times? Oh, and wait til you hear Miss Sadie's secret. You go, girl!
Don't want to spoil it for you, so I'll stop. I think I need to go back and read Crickitt and Shane's book now. I totally loved them in this book!

I Also Recommend:
Hard to Handle by Jessica Lemmon, book two in the Love In The Balance series, continues the story of Aiden & Sadie.
He's been burned by his cheating ex-wife. She's been burned by her ex-fiancee turned brother-in-law.
We first met Sadie and Aiden at the very beginning of Crickett and Shane's romance (Tempting the Billionaire) and I don't know about you, but I was immediately intrigued. On their first date they spent the whole night just talking and finally opening up to someone and letting their own personal demons out! On their second date, they had a night of heavy petting and spooning. A great start to what they both expect to be a forever kinda thing...that is, until tragedy hits and tears them apart.
Many months later, what happens when circumstances force them together...?
"I loved you," Sadie said, her eyes wide and earnest. "And you blew it." That said, she tugged the shirt to her waist, flopped onto one side and pulled the covers over her head.
The jaw she had kissed, had raked her fingernails against; the same jaw that had scraped the softest part of her neck when he kissed her, was covered with enough scruff to make her feel the phantom scratch of it on her skin now.
"Well, if you have everything you need..." he drawled. The low timbre of his voice galloped down her rib cage like a troupe of Riverdancers.
Bringing to mind Bobby from Supernatural...
Dad rolled his eyes. "You two sound like a couple of idgits."
A beautiful story that will have you laughing and crying and feeling so deeply for Sadie and Aiden. I cannot wait to read more in this series.
