Joe Zang has been semi-retired from high technology engineering for the past fourteen years and has been writing novels for the past seven years. He has written murder mysteries using Ocean City Maryland and New Orleans Louisiana as venues. They are short, fast paced, summer reads. Other novels are epic length historical novels that offer suspense about factual international events; but use a few fictional characters to help carry the story along. Finally, he has shared over 50-years of recipes created & compiled in his cookbook.

Five long time close friends in a Summer tourist resort suddenly find their laid-back but successful lives in a turmoil when one of them plus his girlfriend are murdered. The reader is taken from the venue of a deep sea fishing tournament, where hundreds of thousands of dollars can be won in the Calcutta betting, to a premeditated double murder. Bernie Rumgate, one of the five, is a private detective asked by the city's Mayor to head-up solving the case.
